Dry stone effect walls provide the charm of traditional stonework with modern strength and durability. Designed to mimic authentic dry stone, they offer a cost-effective, low-maintenance solution that’s strong, reliable, and long-lasting. Perfect for gardens or features, these walls add timeless character while delivering lasting stability and visual appeal.
Effectively these are built the same as dry stone walls, with the addition of a cement or lime based mortar in the core of the wall which is unseen from outside.
Our dry stone effect service offers the timeless appearance of traditional drystone walling with added structural reassurance. Built using the same careful techniques as a classic dry stone wall, each stone is selected and positioned to achieve the authentic texture, balance, and character you would expect. The difference lies within the core of the wall, where mortar is carefully distributed and concealed from view.
This hidden reinforcement strengthens the structure internally while preserving the natural, mortar-free look on the outside. The result is a wall that is visually indistinguishable from traditional drystone construction but benefits from enhanced stability and durability. It is an ideal solution where extra strength or long-term resilience is required, without compromising on appearance.
By combining craftsmanship with subtle structural support, we deliver a finish that blends seamlessly into its surroundings while providing added peace of mind. You gain the charm of heritage walling with the confidence of modern reinforcement.
Amazing work! Alex repaired a small collapse on an old stone wall in our garden. He did so in such a quick and prompt manner, leaving the site clean and tidy. And the craftsmanship in the wall is absolutely stunning! Thank you, Alex – we would most definitely recommend.
Alex has done a great job. He was friendly and polite, and took time to talk to our grandsons who were very interested in all the fossils he kept finding. Everyone who walks past comments on how good the wall looks. Thanks Alex.
Frost Bros Limited did an outstanding job with our drystone walling. Their craftsmanship is top-notch, with real attention to detail and a clear respect for traditional methods. Alex was reliable, hardworking, and left everything tidy once the job was done. The finished wall looks fantastic and blends perfectly into the landscape. Highly recommend Frost Bros Limited to anyone looking for skilled, professional drystone wallers.
Alex is a very friendly person. Worked hard even in the cold and wet. The finished dry stone wall was perfect.
Alex made an excellent job of reinstating and renovating our stone walled garden terracing. It was in a bad state, so it was much more than a simple makeover, requiring the supply and shifting of lots of stone. We appreciated the way he discussed each stage of the project with us. He was very considerate in the way he worked and was in fact a pleasure to have around. We’d very happily use his services again.
Job completed to a high standard, looks great.
We had Alex from Frost Bros Limited to rebuild our boundary wall. The original wall was in total disrepair and we were looking for someone to help us out. Having tried two other local wallers who let us down, we found Alex and his team who responded quickly and got the wall rebuilt within 2 weeks of contact. The quality of his craftsmanship is second to none with equally as good communication. I can not recommend him and his team enough.
